Most Important

  • It can be said that the two most important causes of the revolution probably are the Bourbon reform and Meracntilism. Those were two of the  aspects of the Spanish colony of New Granada that upset people the most. The Bourbon reform created a negative effect on Creoles because they werent allowed to hold positions of power or descide anything for their colony, which leads into the next reason, Mercantilism. The same social class thought they were being treated as slaves because not only were they being used to create more wealth for the colony by only exporting raw material, but now they were being more controled to make sure they buyed materials from nowhere but Spain. Even if it resulted in a higher price. These two causes could be said to be the spark that initiated the New Granada Revolution.
