How (In what ways) did the Enlightenment influence the Age of Revolutions?

The ideas of the thinkers were used by the people that mounted the revolutions to organize a new government. The ideas and philosophies of the thinkers motivated the people who mounted the revolutions to create a new government.

Simon Bolivar went to Europe, learned the ideas and brought back the ideas of the thinkers to Latin America so that others could learn them as well. Jose San Martin was in Europe at the same time and brought the ideas and philosophies back to Rio de la Plata. All of Locke’s ideas influenced the Glorious Revolution.

During the Enlightenment period people were influenced by the philosophers who came up with different ideas to form an “ideal” government. Their goal was to express themselves to influence people to build a new government for a better life. France decided to change its absolute monarchy for a better life to have a word on how to rule there lives. New Granada Revolution decided to fight the Spanish Colonization in Bolivia to have a better future as normal workers. The American looked for Independence of England since they didn’t want to pay taxes and other things without really having to. The Enlightenment thinkers and their ideas influenced the people who wanted to revolt to have a better idea of how they wanted their lives to be.

How did the French revolution affect (cause) other revolutions? Use Haiti Brazil and another revolution

It affected the Brazil Rev. Río de la plata revolution and the New granada revolution by inspiring them to revolt. Napoleon left his brother as the king of France and since the people in Europe were more focused on their government, the colonies thought that it was a good time to claim independence from Spain. Since the France Revolution was also one of the first ones, it inspired others to revolt.

French Revolution:

Politically-Through the invasion of Spain-Rio de la Plata, Mexico, New Granada revolutions occurred

-Napoleon invasion of Spain inspired the 3 revolutions

-The people thought that if Napoleon could difit Spain, Spain was weakened and they could fight them too.

-The Royal family of Portugal fled to Brazil, gave them rights, king went back, prince stayed to be king of Brazil

Haiti saw France weakened during the assembly and declared war

What role did inequality play in Age of Revolution?

-It was an economic-social class

Inequality was one the major reasons why people decided to revolt. The fact that they felt unequal to the others made them want to fight for the same rights that others had. Social and Economical were the major two reasons. Social because the people with more money had more rights than the ones with no money and since the people that had less money had less rights, they would be treated unfairly.

Why did these revolutions take place, why did so many of them take place during this period?

They took place in this time because they were all pretty close to each other. They would influence each other. So they small countries decided to act upon their colonizers.
